About  NEC: NEC  is a UBA Foundation initiative that was initiated in 2011 as part of the Foundation’s drive to improve the access to education for the under-priviledge across Africa. This year will mark the 2nd Edition of the National Essay Competition in Sierra Leone in conjunction with the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education ( MBSSE )

Topic ”Transforming Education requires collective effort including that of families and communities. Discuss specific interventions from families and or communities that can improve quality in Education”

  • Be a Senior Seconday Student
  • Must submit a hand written essay 
  • Must submit a copy of passport picture
  • Applicant must submit their complete contact information ( Name, Age, School, District/Town, Address of School, Telephone Number of Parents/Guardian, Residential Address or contact number
  • Applicants must attached photocopies of their original certificates and passport size photos
